Over more than a quarter of a century in litigation practice, Alec has specialised in particular in:
- a wide range of financial services litigation, especially for banks, including cheque fraud cases and defence of various claims brought by borrowers;
- representing media organisations in the defence of defamation claims and proceedings for contempt of court;
- numerous representative proceedings;
- misleading or deceptive conduct claims, particularly in the context of prospectuses, sale of businesses and retail shopping centres;
- contract and equity, especially estoppel, on which he has published several articles;
- litigation concerning the Corporations Act, including corporate insolvency.
